Is there any way out of the ouroboros? Or are we just screaming in Dolby surround now?

funny you ask, because i’ve always believed we were meant to be screaming—in dolby surround, no less. something about breaking the ouroboros, feels like it disturbs the flattened circle of time.

i hope it’s just pessimism—runoff from generations lived in bondage. but sometimes evil feels less like a glitch and more like the yin to good’s yang. if it weren’t tyranny, it’d be some other -ism, clawing for its chance to remind us how human we are—by opposing the natural flow of the world around us.

i’m just grateful to have had the chance to exorcise even a little of that darkness from this energy, this cycle. and i know it’s love that keeps me upright—wanting, fighting…

This whole thing, but the last line especially- had me screaming! You ate this shit up. I love the metaphor you came up with. So fucking creative, and so you!

this means the world to me as I’m still getting used to the authenticity of my voice. i often think im speaking inaccessibly or too unseriously, so for it to be a signature makes it feel intentional. a through line to a truth of me and what i am actually saying.

maybe the uncertainty comes from Substack being my editor lol.

I’m so glad and so fair! I find that having “substack as an editor” can definitely be misleading in my own writing, it’s difficult to gauge resonance a lot of the time. It feels like a daily trust fall! Your work definitely does feel signature, it resonates in a specific way when you’re right on the mark, and helps clarify and ground me into your words! It’s like a feeling of clarity, empowerment, but also a touch of humor/satire. Not sure if that makes sense but, I hope it helps me to reflect back what I feel reading your words!
